Throughout March the Scottish Universities Insight Institute (SUII) are running Scotland wide workshops to promote their 2017 Knowledge Exchange call for proposals.
14th March is the University of Stirling’s turn.
The workshop will promote Scottish Universities Insight Institute’s (SUII) latest call for proposals running between August 2017 and February 2018; providing further details of the 2017 open call, sharing tips on developing a successful application and hearing from previous grant holders about running a programme.
The workshop is open to academics from across the Scottish HEI community so if you’re interested better save yourself a seat by registering to attend the session here .
SUII is interested in Knowledge Exchange programmes that address substantial issues facing Scotland and the wider world, which have the capacity to extend knowledge and inform policy and/or practice. For this call SUII is particularly interested in programmes that explore the implications of increasing uncertainty in many spheres, make connections across institutions, disciplines & sectors, and generate fresh insights from the interaction of different perspectives that might not often meet. Successful programmes will obtain funding for the delivery of the specified programme i.e. costs of arranging programme meetings / seminars and enabling key participants to attend. Programme participants should include academics (from 2 or more Scottish Universities) and members of communities beyond academia, eg. the public and voluntary sectors, business and industry, as well as international experts.
In previous years the Faculty of Social Sciences have been partners on several of these funded programmes including 3 of the 8 funded 2015/16 programmes and 1 of the 2016/17 programmes (see Digital Families Across the Lifecourse, Development of Migrant Youth Identities in Post-Referendum Scotland, Child Neglect, Wellbeing & Resilience: Adopting Arts-based Practices, and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child in Scotland).
Can’t make the 14th March?
Keep an eye on this blog as Julia Campbell, Research Development Manager will be writing a summary of the workshop and key insights; or similar workshops are being run at other Scottish HEIs during March for which you are welcome to register, dates will be announced on the call webpage.
